ComboFix is portable freeware that scans a PC computer for any and all types of spyware and malware. It can be easily downloaded and is a fairly small program that relies on line script so it does not require a lot of computer space. ComboFix can find and remove spyware and malware infections that are hard for regular antivirus programs to find or clean. While cleaning the PC and deleting the files, the program also makes a report of every step made so that the user can see exactly what files and programs have been deleted.

To run properly, the firewall and antivirus software should be disabled on the computer and, once set to run, ComboFix completes the process almost automatically. The program sorts through files quickly and most of the scans tend to be fairly fast and can be completed in less than ten minutes. For computers that are heavily infected, scans may take longer. After completing the scan, your computer should be restarted and you should see immediate results.

If used properly, ComboFix is a great way to delete unwanted files and programs on your computer that may be affecting how your computer runs. I recommend using it as a second source or last resort of cleaning up your computer, after a standard antivirus or malware program has been used and if your computer still seems to be running very slow or having extreme problems. The program is a bit too powerful to use on a regular basis.

A word of caution, though, is that, while the program is an excellent tool for removing computer powerful infections, it can also delete wanted or needed files on a computer. Those who are not familiar with the program should be cautious while using it. Guidance from someone who is familiar with the program is recommended.
